LOCATION ONE- BECKENHAM PALACE MANSION
Beckenham palace mansion would be a place for texture shots but to also use the interior. It's very grand and old and in the dark can look quite ominous. This will help set the scene and atmosphere. It would be used because the synopsis of the trailer has a billionaire wanting to buy land.

Risk Assessment
When walking into the building there's a sign outside saying there's risk of falling masonry, If the wall is knocked or something accidentally falls there's a risk of it hitting someone or damaging the equipment. When walking into the building and leaving we will make sure that everyone enters safely and that we will try and avoid the sides of the building. However this sign only appears outside and is therefor not a major risk as we would be filming inside, therefore meaning we would only need to be specifically cautious when entering and leaving.
The rooms where we would film are quite old and therefore meaning at bigger risk of being damaged easily and also breaking. When we would be filming and moving equipment there's a risk of hitting the walls and windows which could damage them and they could break off. It would not only damage the building but it could fall on the equipment and damage it also. To help prevent damage and breakage we could be cautious when moving around the room and the equipment. As well as making the cast and crew aware of the possible risks and making sure they know to be careful around areas like the windows and doors. |
Permission- When calling Tim the mansion supervisor. We arranged to book the two main halls for two hours 4-6 on Monday the 13th on November. For £15 an hour.
LOCATION TWO- OXLEAS WOODS
Oxleas Woods has a rich variety of unnerving and scary features about it. Severndroog Castle (left) is a prime example of this. Looming ominously over the entire woods, making it a perfect location for any horror film. Its slender and narrow shape is perfect for a Slasher, heightening the sense and feeling of claustrophobia and maximising audience investment in the trailer. RISK: Old rooms that are bound to have decaying walls and possibly weak glass in the windows, precaution required when filming inside the castle. The area to the left is on the outskirts of Oxleas Woods, and would provide a great location for the outside chase featured in the script for our film. It's very open and features plenty of (sub)urban decay, such as broken walls or stairwells. This area would also be good for texture shots and possibly birds/worms eye view shots due to the range of heights throughout the location. RISK: Very jagged and uneven staircases that could pose a threat to people walking up and down them all day. The image to the left is a close-up of some more decay from the area shown above. This would also be good for some unnerving texture shots, as well as a possible location featured in the ending montage. RISK: Standard precaution required as with all filming, but this particular area doesn't feature any particular risks. The area to the left is a shot of a bunker in the outskirts of the Woods. This would be great for the shots of the Crypt in the trailer, as it resembles an underground location, specifically where the antagonist rises for the first time in the script. RISK: Extremely low ceiling makes it very difficult to shoot in, risk of head injury. |
LOCATION THREE : SOUTHMERE LAKE
Southmere at night, this location at night would be good for texture shots because of the buildings, lake and railings. It's very big and would have a lot of space and different shots and angels that we could film.
This is Southmere during the day where we can see the proper outline and details of all the buildings and shows in daylight where we could shoot.
|
This video shows a pan of the lake and buildings in the dark. We could use a similar style shot as one of the texture shots used at the beginning of the trailer. This because the synopsis is about taking control of land. So Southmere lake would be good as it represents quite a big piece of land.

Risk assessment
A possible risk is that there is no protection between the concrete and wooden edge and the water. This could lead to one of the cast. crew or equipment going into the water.
In order to prevent this we will try and stay away from the edge of the walkway, but to also be cautious to look where were going and putting equipment. |
For all the shots we will need the camera and lighting person to set up the shots.
Location 1 is Beckenham place mansion Location 2 is Oxlease woods Location 3 is Beckenham place park Character A- is the antagonist Character B- is Henry Matterson Character C- Paul Character D- Louise Character E- Other female We will use the Old Deptord police station for any of the shots we can't get outside. |
